Boston is the largest city in Massachusetts and located in the eastern part of the state on Massachusetts Bay.

The first settler from the 'Old World' was William Blackstone in 1623, three years after the Pilgrims had landed in Plymouth. He was joined by Puritans from England and named their new town after the place in Lincolnshire, England.

Boston played an important role leading up to the American Revolution with the Boston Massacre (1770) and the Boston Tea Party (1773).
