Chicago is the largest city in Illinois and the 3rd largest city in the United States of America and situated along the southwest shore of Lake Michigan.

The first permanent white settler was John Kinzie who took over the trading post in 1796 which was established by Jean-Baptiste Point du sable in 1791. In 1837 it became a city.

In the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 more than 2,000 acres were destroyed.

Chicago is well known for the Sears Tower.
